Guatemala

Guatemala is a country in Central America bordered by Mexico to the north and west, the Pacific Ocean to the southwest, Belize to the northeast, the Caribbean to the east, and Honduras and El Salvador to the southeast.

Did you know that:
1. Guatemala is the world's largest exporter of peas.
2. Guatemala is the only country in Latin America where there are four active volcanoes.
3. Chocolate comes from Guatemala. It was used in the Maya culture in the sixth century AD. Xocoatl word meant - bitter water. Sugar was still not known back then - so to make chocolate taste better they added various spices including Hot Chilli Peppers.
4. Tropical Peten jungle is the second largest in the world.
5. Quetzal - rare bird living in Guatemala if taken in captivity do not survive more than a day.
