Paraguay is a landlocked country in South America, bordered by Argentina to the south and southwest, Brazil to the east and northeast, and Bolivia to the northwest. Paraguay lies on both banks of the Paraguay River, which runs through the center of the country from north to south. Due to its central location in South America, it is sometimes referred to as Corazón de América ("Heart of America").

Did you know that:

1. The majority of
the population (about 95%) it is a mixture of Spaniards and Indians, commonly called Mestizo.
2. In
Paraguay fighting is legal. Can take place only "one on one" without the presence of a doctor, but both participants must be registered blood donors.
3. National meal is Mandioca - corn and beans
mixed together.
4. This country has
the largest navy of all landlocked countries.
5. Across the
Paraguay pass the world's largest freshwater wetland  - Pantanal.
